How to Use Your Mac Computer with Gregg Montgomery, TechKnowledge Learn how to get the most of your Mac computer. Understand the basics and the programs that come with your computer. Students use the Senior Center Mac laptops. Maximum of 12 participants per class. Advanced registration required and participants need to be a 2017 Senior Association member. No auditing or walk-ins permitted.
Mac: Week 1- Systems Basics Week 1 focuses on the System Basics. This class develops an understanding of the basics of the technology that makes your Mac work by observing and defining elements and icons that appear on the main screen. We also go over helpful terms and vocabulary that helps build an understanding how your Mac operates. 553205 A: Sa, 9/16 $20 by 9/14
Mac: Week 2 - The Finder Week 2 is Finder boot camp! Learning to use the Finder is a basic function that everyone needs to understand. The Finder is critical to organizing your files and knowing how to create folders and move files around. 553206 A: Sa, 9/23 $20 by 9/22
Mac: Week 3 - Safari and the App Store Safari is the built in web browser for surfing the web. Learn how to manage and organize your bookmarks in this class. We also discuss the App Store, your Apple ID and how to do software updates. 553207 A: Sa, 9/30 $20 by 9/29
Mac: Week 4 - Notes, Reminders & FaceTime We focus on a few small apps that are highly useful, but greatly underutilized. Those apps include Notes, Reminders (for to do lists) and FaceTime for making free internet-based videoconferencing calls. 553208 A: Sa, 10/7 $20 by 10/5
Mac: Week 5 - Contacts & Calendars The calendar is what helps us maintain our busy life as we add and manage events on our calendar. Contacts helps us keep our contact information for our friends, family and associates well organized. 553209 A: Sa, 10/14 $20 by 10/12
Mac: Week 6 - Mail Mail is Mac’s built in email client application which offers us some great benefits over using Safari to check email. Those benefits include not having to log in to email each time, simple attachments, spam filtering and even more. 553210 A: Sa, 10/28 $20 by 10/26
Mac: Week 7 – Photos for Mac This session focuses on organizing your photos. Apple recently discontinued the iPhoto application so this class focuses on the new Photos application that replaces iPhoto.
